Biography

French Baritone, Yann Toussaint first studied literature and graduated from the Sorbone with a literature Major before turning to singing at the CNSM of Paris.

Prizewinner of the CFPL contest, he was hired for the Rossini’s Viaggio a Reims tour as Antonio in Reims, Avignon, Montpellier, Tours, Metz, Nancy, Nice, Saint-Etienne, Toulouse, Marseille et Bordeaux…

Will follow the parts of il Conte (Il Nozze di Figaro) at the Avignon Opera House and in Massy, Montano (Otello) in Marseille and in Massy, Schaunard (La Bohème) in Avignon and in Reims, un Araldo (Otello) at the Chorégies d’Orange under Myung-Whum Chung’s baton, The Director (Le dernier jour d’un Condamné) and Lord Cecil (Maria Stuarda) in Avignon, Yves (Madame Chrysanthème) in Marseille.

More recently, he sang again the Director (Le dernier jour d’un Condamné) in Marseille and the part of Dancaîre (Carmen) at the Saint-Etienne Opera House..

Yann Toussaint sang in concert too, Bach’s Weihnachtsoratorium ans Mass in G in Massy, Duruflé’s Requiem under Jean Sourisse’s baton, Fauré’s Requiem de with the Lorraine National Orchestra in Metz, Beethoven’s 9 Symphony in Nagoya with the Aichi Central Orchestra, Campra’s Requiem, Bach’s « Ich habe genug » Cantate, Saint-Saëns’s Oratorio de Noël de Saint-Saëns with the Ile de France Chamber Orchestra, Puccini’s Messa di Gloria in Marseille and in Avignon, Dancaîre (carmen) in Saint-Etienne.
