Biography

 

After studying at the CNSM in Paris and at the Paris Opera’s École d’Art Lyrique, Franck Leguérinel debuted at the Nantes Opera in La Finta Giardiniera, and has since sung on many French stages in major Mozartian and bel canto roles: Papageno, Figaro and the Count, Guglielmo, Don Giovanni, Mustafa (L’Italiana in Algeri), Don Profondo (Il Viaggio a Reims), Dandini (La Cenerentola), the title role of Don Pasquale, Bartolo (Il Barbiere di Siviglia), Raimbaud (Le Comte Ory).

 

He has also demonstrated his skill with the French repertoire: Albert (Werther), Mercutio (Roméo et Juliette), the title role of Don Procopio, Clavaroche (Fortunio), Sulpice (La Fille du Régiment), Lescaut (Manon), Momus (Platée).

He frequently appears at the Opéra National de Paris, in Carmen, La Bohème, Manon, l’Enfant et les Sortilèges, Platée, Giulio Cesare, Die Zauberflöte (as Papageno, to great acclaim). He has also been invited to the Chorégies d’Orange, the Salzburg and Halle Festivals, the Flanders Opera, the Grand Théâtre in Geneva, and the Montpellier Opera.

 

Among many other roles, he has sung Calchas (La Belle Hélène) at the Opéra du Rhin, the title role of Falstaff, Don Alfonso (Cosi fan Tutte), il Talpa and Marco (Il Trittico) in Tours, The Viceroy (La Périchole) in Lille, Angers and Nantes, Fritelli (Le Roi Malgré Lui) in Lyon and at the Opéra Comique, Don Magnifico in Avignon and Tours, Billy Budd at the Paris Opera, Bartolo, The Baron (La Vie Parisienne) and Don Geronio (Il Turco in Italia) in Angers and Nantes, and Dulcamara (L’Elisir d’Amore) at the Folies Lyriques in Montpellier and in Massy. He has also played Bartolo (Il Barbiere di Siviglia) in Bordeaux, Maître André (Fortunio) in Limoges and Rennes, Mamma Agata (Viva la Mamma) in Fribourg, Lausanne and Metz and Jupiter (Orphée aux Enfers) in Nancy. At the Opéra Comique, he has played the Vizier (Mârouf),  Frank (Die Fledermaus) and Abbé Bridaine (Les Mousquetaires au Couvent) and the the Grand Théâtre in Geneva, Géronte (Le Médecin malgré lui), Jupiter at the Folies Lyriques in Montpellier, as well as in Angers and Nantes, Fantasio at the Opera Comique, Graf Mirko Zeta (Die lustige Witwe  at the Opéra National de Paris, Abbé Bridaine (Les Mousquetaires au Couvent) at the Avignon Opera,  the role of Wazir (Rabaud's Marouf) at the Bordeaux Opera House and at the Opera Comique, Agamemnon (Belle Hélène) at the Opera National de Lorraine,Marquis de Corcy (Le Postillon de Lonjumeau), Major Cotignac (Offenbach's Madame Favart), Maître André (Messager's Fortunio) at the Paris Opera-Comique, Le Baron (La Vie Parisienne) in Rouen and at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, Maître André (Messager's Fortunio)  in Nancy.

 

He will soon  sing the role of Le Baron (La Vie Parisienne) in Limoges, le Bailly (Werther) in Tours, Antonio (Nozze di Figaro) and Alcindoro (La Bohème) à at the Opéra National de Paris, King V’lan (Voyage dans la Lune) and the King of Bavière (Fantasio) à l’Opéra-Comique ...
